Pas d'Enduropale pour Axel Van de Sande

Le pilote belge ne prendra pas le départ de la 42ème édition de l'Enduropale.

Axel Van de Sande a dû déclarer forfait à cause d'une blessure au bras qu'il s'est faite à la Red Bull Knock Out, en novembre dernier. Le pilote belge avait terminé premier lors la première manche du championnat de France des Sables, au Beach Cross de Berck, début octobre.

Hey guys????????! Here’s my update for Le Touquet 2017????: Currently I’m struggling with a tendon inflammation which I caught up at Redbull Knock Out, November 19th 2016. After the race it went from being sore to an arm I couldn’t move anymore. So on Tuesday I decided to have it checked up by a couple of doctors. They told me it was just an average inflammation which would go away with some painkillers and rest. Unfortunately one week later my arm wasn’t much better and I still couldn’t ride my bike. I was given a couple of injections Thursday before Hossoger and I decided to take on the race and keep my red plate. I succeeded and finished 3rd but I was in a lot of pain. Luckily the pain didn’t hold me back because I’m a champion, and champions never quit. After Saint-Leger I took another 3 weeks off, meaning I hadn’t done any training since RBKO and I was already 6 weeks off my bike. I tried to start riding again but after the training my arm was feeling completely empty and the pain was increasing again. That’s when I decided to see a 4th doctor. I had to do a surgery 20th of January so I had to cancel Grayan. For me this was a very tough decision as resting had been a waste of time but I have to put my physical condition first if I want to continue racing. The past month has been very hard for me personally as I didn’t even get the chance to compete in World’s biggest beach race. This year I will be in Le Touquet as a spectator. It’s going to be hard but there’s no other choice right now. I’m sure next year I will be back and bring that victory home????????????????????!!
